Next9/R'Jellybean Ring Slings are made of soft breathable cotton fabric, which are held together with beige nylon rings. It has a pocket where you can place your baby's needs (diaper, burp cloth, etc) for a short trip out. The beige nylon rings are individually tested and inspected by the supplier before sent to Next9. It must pass an impact test and a 250 pound pull test before being considered ready to ship for use in the Next 9 Sling. Ring Slings are adjustable slings that a caregiver uses to carry a baby/toddler (max of 35 lbs.). Why babywear? Benefit to Baby -------------------- - A baby cries less when he/she is carried. - A carried baby is said to have an increased mental, emotional and physical development. A carried baby is in a quiet, alert state which stimulates infant learning. Babies also feel more secure this way so they tend to become more independent at an early age. Research has also shown that when a baby is held close to the caregiver, it helps her adapt easier to life outside the womb, it even means lesser risk for SIDS. No need to worry how to negotiate tight areas/corregidor/aisles with a stroller/baby carriage. - compared to carrying baby with your bare arms, the sling is a much better option. The baby's weight is distributed across the wearer's back so baby feels lighter. Personally, (my first sling was a ring sling - next9) I love its adjustability. I didn't have to buy another sling for my husband and caregiver. We all shared 1 sling even if we were all 3 different sizes. Secondly, travelling with a baby can be light.
